This is a superb example of mid-century modern Israeli Judaica: a sterling silver honey dish designed by the master silversmith Yitzhak Bier. The piece features a finely pierced silver base with a swing handle, featuring the Hebrew greeting "שנה טובה ומתוקה" (Shana Tova u'Metuka), wishing a "Good and Sweet Year."
The set is complete with its original heavy-cut glass insert, likely of French origin, featuring a deep "beaded" or "thumbprint" pattern that provides a beautiful refractive quality. The sterling silver lid is topped with a tiered finial, typical of Bier’s clean, architectural style. This is a highly collectible piece from one of Jerusalem's most significant silversmithing legacies.
