Presented as a fine pair, these 19th-century American pressed glass "finger lamps" (also known as hand lamps) represent the high quality of Victorian-era domestic lighting. These were designed for portability, featuring integral glass handles to be carried safely from room to room.

Both lamps have been carefully curated and serviced with authentic, period-correct brass burners from a private collection. Rather than the common modern reproductions often found on the market, these lamps feature high-quality, 19th-century hardware that matches the age and quality of the glass fonts.

  • Lamp 1 (Beaded Medallion): An ornate font featuring the "Beaded Medallion" (or "Beaded Scroll") pattern, common in the 1870s–1880s. It features a decorative beaded band around the shoulder. It has been fitted with an original "Empire E.M. & Co. U.S.A." brass burner.

  • Lamp 2 (Daisy & Star Base): A classic Edward Miller & Co. design. While the font is a clean, simple transitional style, the base features the iconic "Daisy and Star" (Petal) embossed pattern on the underside, which creates brilliant light refraction. It is fitted with an original "E. Miller & Co. Made in U.S.A." brass burner.

Condition Report

Excellent Antique Condition. Both glass fonts are exceptionally clear with no chips, cracks, or "glass sickness" (clouding). Handles are structurally sound with no stress fractures. Both brass burners are authentic 19th-century originals, not reproductions. They have a beautiful natural patina and the wick advancement mechanisms turn freely. As is typical of EAPG, minor factory mold marks or small cooling lines (straw marks) may be present but do not affect the integrity of the pieces. (Chimneys not included).

Dimensions

  • Lamp 1: 6" Height (to top of burner), 3.25" Base Diameter.

  • Lamp 2: 6" Height (to top of burner), 4" Base Diameter.
