This large and impressive brass wall-hanging plate features a central repoussé medallion depicting the biblical "Scouts" (Joshua and Caleb) returning from the Promised Land. They are shown carrying a massive cluster of grapes on a pole, a motif based on Numbers 13:23. The central scene is framed by the Hebrew inscription "Zavat Chalav U’Devash" (A Land Flowing with Milk and Honey) and "Medinat Yisrael" (State of Israel), accented by two Stars of David.

The Tzel-Tzion Workshop: The piece was produced by the Tzel-Tzion (Shadow of Zion) workshop, a significant Tel Aviv-based firm active during the 1950s and 60s. Along with contemporaries like Pal-Bell, Tzel-Tzion specialized in handcrafted brass and bronze-tone items that sought to bridge ancient biblical themes with the modern identity of the newly established Jewish state.
