This exquisite Victorian-era miniature oil lamp features a matching embossed "Shell" pattern on both the globe shade and the fount base. The opaque white milk glass is beautifully accented with delicate transfer-ware purple and white floral motifs, reminiscent of spring violets.

The lamp retains its original brass burner and a small glass chimney. The molded shell design provides a wonderful tactile texture, typical of late 19th-century glass craftsmanship. Standing at 7.25 inches to the top of the shade, this dimunitive lamp was originally intended for use on a nightstand or in a hallway where low, steady light was required.

Condition Report

• Overall: Very good antique condition with vibrant floral transfers.

• Shade: There is a notable chip on the bottom fitter rim of the shade (see photos). This is largely concealed when the shade is seated in the brass tripod/fitter.

• Base: The base appears structurally sound. There is some minor expected surface wear and "flea bites" around the top rim where the burner attaches.

• Hardware: The brass burner shows a natural aged patina. The wick is present.
