This is a stunning example of mid-19th-century American craftsmanship. This whale oil (fluid) lamp features a brilliant clear glass font in a sophisticated Diamond Point and Flute pattern. The font is joined to a heavy, white milk glass base by a classic brass wafer connector. The base is an elegant architectural form, featuring a fluted column rising from a tiered, quatrefoil-style plinth with beaded detailing.

This "composite" style (clear font with milk glass base) was highly popular during the transition from whale oil to kerosene. It is an authentic period piece, perfect for serious collectors of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) or historical lighting technology.
