This charming antique Kiddush cup is a fine example of Imperial Russian silver Judaica, used traditionally for reciting the Kiddush blessing over wine during Shabbat and Jewish holidays. The cup features a classic tapered cylindrical shape with a slightly flared rim and a stable flat base. The exterior is adorned with hand-engraved floral motifs, including stylized leaves and vines that wrap around the body, adding an elegant Art Nouveau-inspired touch common in late 19th-century Russian silver. The rim and base are bordered with intricate dotted zigzag patterns, created through piercing or chasing techniques, enhancing its decorative appeal. The interior is smooth and unadorned, with a subtle patina that reflects its age and authenticity. All hallmarks are clearly visible on the base, confirming its provenance and purity.

Material: Solid silver, hallmarked 84 zolotnik (equivalent to .875 or 87.5% pure silver, comparable to sterling silver standards).

Origin: Imperial Russia, assayed in Moscow. The hallmarks indicate production during the late Tsarist era, a period renowned for fine Russian silver craftsmanship, often associated with Jewish silversmiths in urban centers like Moscow, where such ritual items were commonly made for the Jewish community.

Age: Circa 1899-1908, based on the kokoshnik hallmark featuring a woman's head facing left (used exclusively in this period). Assayed by Ivan Sergeevich Lebedkin (ИЛ in Cyrillic), who served as the Moscow assayer from 1898 to 1914.

Maker: Unknown silversmith, marked with Cyrillic initials "ХШЛ" or possibly "ХШП" (transliterated as Kh.Sh.L or Kh.Sh.P) in a rectangular cartouche below the assay marks. This may represent a lesser-known artisan, potentially of Jewish origin, as many Kiddush cups from this era were produced by specialized workshops in Russia.

Condition: Very good antique condition overall, with expected signs of age and use. There are a few minor dents and dings on the body, but only noticeable at certain close-up angles. No major damage or repairs; the silver retains a bright luster with natural patina. The engravings remain sharp and detailed.
