Presenting a substantial and finely cast antique bulldog still bank, matching the Hubley Manufacturing Co. Catalog #826. This piece features the tight, hand-finished seams and deep-set recessed screw characteristic of early 20th-century American foundry work. This is the desirable larger version, standing 6 inches to the tips of the ears and measuring nearly 9 inches at its widest point.
This piece features exceptional casting detail, showcasing the muscular build of the bulldog with realistic skin folds and a stern, classic expression. The coin slot is located on the back of the neck. This bank remains in its unrestored, original state, preserving the historical integrity of the piece. The uniform dark-chocolate patina suggests either a rarer early finish variation or possibly an exceptionally well-preserved mid-century casting. The bank is held together by its original recessed flathead screw, which appears unturned, a key indicator of its untouched provenance.
