This is what is believed to be a charming antique cast iron doorstop featuring a puppy in a "begging" pose, manufactured by the renowned Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The figure displays the high-quality casting and expressive detailing characteristic of early Hubley production, including the textured fur and soulful eye. The puppy retains much of its original cream/yellow and black paint, which shows a heavy, authentic "alligator" patina and surface craquelure.

The dog is mounted to a stepped, semi-circular cast iron base. While the figure itself retains its original historical finish, the base appears to have a later coat of black paint. The underside shows the hollow-cast interior and the two original rusted mounting screws, confirming its early 20th-century assembly.
