The lamp is mounted on a weighted Gorham Silver Plate pedestal base, displaying the classic elegance associated with Providence, Rhode Island’s premier silversmith.

The burner is a period-correct "DORSET" model produced by Plume & Atwood (P&A). The thumb wheel is clearly marked "P&A Dorset Made in U.S.A. Thomaston, Conn." This burner is a favorite among collectors for its reliability and delicate pierced gallery.
