Manufactured circa 1921–1920s by the A.C. Williams Company (Ravenna, Ohio), this flat-back cast metal bank was designed to be mounted on a wall via the top hanging eyelet. The front cover displays bold raised lettering reading "U.S. MAIL" across the top postal flap, a central padlock loop motif, "BANK" below, and the spread-wing American Bald Eagle emblem at the base.
The coin deposit slot is located at the top rear lip above the mounting eyelet. Access to saved coins is provided through the back plate, which features the stamped patent date "PAT. NOV. 22 '21" and is secured with a single, original center slotted screw. The piece retains a soft, silver-tone/nickel-plated metallic wash finish over dense cast metal, showing natural age toning and subtle oxidized highlights in the recessed relief.
