This is an early 20th-century Cast Iron "Fido" Dog Still Penny Bank, traditionally attributed to the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania (and produced in similar forms across major American foundries such as A.C. Williams during the 1910s–1920s). This iconic American still bank features a charming, head-cocked puppy sitting attentively with perked ears and an arched eyebrow expression.
The bank is constructed from two heavy cast iron halves joined by a single slotted brass screw on the rear. The coin slot is situated on the back collar area. The base exhibits characteristic interior cast locking tabs that secure the two halves at the bottom. The figure retains its original cream/off-white factory paint finish with hand-painted black eyebrow and facial details, grey ear highlights, and red accent dots along the raised collar.
