This is a beautiful example of Victorian-era lighting, featuring a vibrant blue opalescent glass font in the popular "Coin Dot" pattern. The opalescence is fiery and well-defined. The font is joined to a clear glass pedestal base with a tight spiral/swirl mold pattern that catches the light brilliantly.

The lamp is crowned with an exceptionally ornate brass burner manufactured by the Manhattan Brass Company of New York. The thumbwheel is clearly marked "MB CO NY PAT APL 30 83". The burner features decorative piercing and a stylized petal-like gallery that is much more decorative than standard period burners.

  • Origin: United States (Manhattan Brass Co. was based in New York City).

  • Age: Circa 1883–1895.

  • Material: Glass (Opalescent and Flint/Clear), Brass.

  • Condition: Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs to the glass font, stem, or base. The brass burner has a natural aged patina and the thumbwheel turns the wick smoothly. Includes a clear glass chimney.
