Offering a fine example of mid-19th-century lighting technology. This fluid/whale oil lamp features a brilliant clear glass font with a deeply molded petal or lobed design. The font is securely joined via a tiered brass stem to a square, white-veined marble base. The top is fitted with its original brass threaded collar, ready for a period-correct double-tube or fluid burner. This piece represents the peak of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) craftsmanship, combining functional utility with the elegant aesthetic of the 1850s.

Origin: United States (Likely New England/Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. or similar)

Age: Circa 1840–1860

Material: Flint Glass, Brass, Marble

Dimensions: Approximately 7.5" Tall x 3.5" Wide (Base)

Condition: Excellent antique condition. The glass font is clear with no chips or cracks. The marble base shows minor "flea bites" and natural age-related smoothing at the corners, consistent with a piece of this age. The brass stem and collar show a beautiful natural patina. Bolt is secure at the underside.

Note to Buyer: The lamp features a standard mid-19th-century threaded brass collar (approx. 7/8" diameter), which will accept most period whale oil or early kerosene burners.
