For sale is a pre-war 1920s American-made 3-piece tin lithograph floor-train set manufactured by the Hafner Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. Designed as an economical floor-shiner/push toy (non-electric and non-clockwork floor runner), the set features a steam locomotive with a tender-style integrated body and two matching red-and-green passenger coaches.

The locomotive is finished in dark green/black lithography with subtle green boiler bands, riveted cab detail drawings, and a solid turned metal smokestack mounted atop the boiler front. The two passenger cars feature vibrant red lithographed sidewalls with detailed yellow/green arched windows, simulated clerestory green roofs, diamond-pane end door graphics, and delicate scrollwork borders along the lower panel seams.

Each piece is constructed using traditional folded tinplate metal with tab-and-slot joinery and rides on green-painted disc wheels secured by extended peened metal pin axles. The cars connect using classic stamped hook-and-loop integrated tin drawbars.
