This is an exceptional example of mid-century "Israeliana" metalwork from the renowned Tzel Tzion workshop in Tel Aviv. The large-scale brass wall plate features a striking central relief of a runner carrying a flaming torch, set within a stylized Star of David (Magen David). The torch and athlete likely commemorate the Maccabiah Games or the "Torch Run" tradition in early Israeli statehood celebrations.

The Tzel Tzion workshop was a family-run operation known for collaborating with master designers from the Bezalel Academy. Their pieces were produced in limited quantities compared to larger firms like Pal-Bell, making them highly sought after by collectors of Israeli modernist design. This plate features a rich, aged patina and a significant weight, reflecting the high-quality cast brass used by the foundry.
