A classic piece of Americana, this J. Chein & Co. "Happy Days" Cash Register Bank is a prime example of the high-quality lithographed tin toys produced during the Golden Age of toys. Finished in a textured gold-tone lithography, the front features the "Happy Days Cash Register" title in bold Art Deco-style lettering. The top has a coin slot labeled "BANK," while the front face holds three levers to register 5, 10, and 25-cent deposits. When pressed, the internal "flags" pop up in the top window and the drawer springs forward. The back is clearly marked with the iconic J. Chein & Co. shield logo.

  • Material: Lithographed Tin / Steel

  • Origin: Made in USA (Harrison, New Jersey)

  • Age: Circa 1932–1938

  • Dimensions: 4.25" Height x 3.25" Width x 4.25" Depth

  • Condition: Good Vintage Condition. The mechanical action is fully functional; all three levers (5, 10, 25) successfully pop the drawer open, including the one with a partial tab. The lithography shows a beautiful, authentic aged "crazing" throughout. There is minor surface oxidation (rust) on the levers and base, and a light "greenish" staining on the right side consistent with age. The original bottom trap/door is present.
