This charming miniature keg is a rare, harder-to-find form of early 20th-century Holy Land souvenir art. Hand-carved from dense Mediterranean olive wood, it is prized for its distinctively swirling grain patterns and warm, honey-toned coloration. The exterior features authentic Hebrew hand-carving designating its origin as "Har HaZaytim" (Mount of Olives), a site of profound historical and religious significance in Jerusalem.

This piece represents a specialized vessel from the well-known historical trade of early 20th-century Jerusalem souvenir craftsmanship. While common souvenir items like crosses and camels are frequently found, this barrel format is a notably scarcer, artisanal variation. The craftsmanship displays a refined, hand-carved aesthetic reminiscent of the Bezalel style (please note: this is a stylistic description and is not an attributed piece from the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts). It includes a fitted wooden lid with a carved knob.
