An exceptional and early example of Jewish ritual pewter. This late 18th-century plate features a deep center engraving for "בשר" (Basar/Meat) to facilitate kashrut separation. Opposite the rim is a hand-engraved owner's cipher in Hebrew, executed in a traditional zig-zag "wiggle-work" technique.
The reverse is heavily marked with multiple hallmarks, including the Archangel Michael (Angel with Scales) quality mark and a secondary "FINE BLOCK TIN / DONHREMES" workshop stamp. The plate features the desirable wide, flat rim characteristic of pre-1800 Continental pewter.

Reference
"The figure of an angel, often Michael or Gabriel, was the standard quality mark for 'Fine Pewter' across the Continent during the 18th century. Inscribed Judaic pieces from this period are particularly rare as they represent the physical manifestation of domestic religious law."
