This offering features a matched pair of mid-century Japanese cast iron miniature candle holders. Designed in the traditional "chamberstick" or "finger lamp" saucer style, these heavy iron pieces were likely produced as export novelty items or as part of the Nanbu Tekki (ironware) tradition. The deep saucer bases were designed to catch wax drippings, and the central cups are sized for miniature taper or "chime" candles. The patina is deep and untouched, making them ideal for primitive, farmhouse, or wabi-sabi home decor.
Origin: Japan
Age: Circa 1940s–1960s
Material: Heavy Cast Iron
Weight: 8 oz (Combined)
Dimensions: Approx. 1.75" height x 2.75" base diameter
Condition: Excellent vintage "as-found" condition. These pieces exhibit a heavy, authentic oxidized patina and surface rust that collectors of primitive metalware prize. The original black finish is worn, revealing the natural iron texture. They are structurally sound with clear "JAPAN" embossed marks on the undersides as seen in the photos.
