This is an authentic pair of Victorian English brass candlesticks featuring the classic faceted diamond knop design set on octagonal (clipped-corner) bases.
Each candlestick stands 8.5 inches tall and features a distinctive turned column constructed with a knurled/beaded collar above a prominent facet-cut diamond knop, followed by a tiered beehive-form lower section and a flared pedestal foot. The bases are shaped with clipped octagonal corners and deep concave undersides.

Authenticity Assessment
These candlesticks exhibit all key physical markers of late 19th-century English manufacturing:
-
Multi-Piece Rod Assembly: The underside shows authentic, period-correct square/hexagonal iron securing nuts on threaded steel/iron core rods rather than modern machine-crimped fasteners or modern brass threads.
-
Underside Tooling & Mold Marks: The interior hollow of the cast bases features raw, rough sand-casting texture alongside concentric lathe-turning ring chatter marks from period hand-finishing.
-
Weight & Alloy: Solid, heavy gauge cast brass with natural aging in the metal and genuine verdigris oxidation inside the candle sconces.
