This is a stunning antique bride’s basket featuring the "Buttons and Braids" pattern (Jefferson No. 182) in green opalescent glass. Produced by the Jefferson Glass Company, the bowl features a deeply crimped, ruffled rim with a strong opalescent finish that transitions beautifully into the vibrant green body. The pattern consists of stylized "braids" or C-scrolls alternating with circular "buttons," radiating from a central star-pressed base.
The bowl is set in its original, quadrupled silver-plated frame manufactured by the Warren Silver Plate Company. The stand features a fixed, ornate handle with beaded and foliate flourishes and is marked on the underside with the maker's hallmark and the pattern/style number "526." This specific piece carries notable provenance, originating from the collection of the late Dr. Ardis Slater.
