Up for sale is a 19th-century antique American cast iron "Roof Bank" architectural still coin bank, attributed to the J. & E. Stevens Company (Cromwell, CT) circa 1885–1905.

This heavy, two-piece cast iron building bank features intricate Gothic and Romanesque architectural detailing, including arched tracery windows, a central brick chimney, textured roof shingles, and an ornate embossed banner over the front door reading "BANK". The bank retains a remarkable amount of its original factory gold/bronze lacquer wash finish along the quoins, window trim, roof edges, and entrance. The coin slot is located along the upper rear roof line. Held together by its original single central screw with tight scalloped side-seam interlock joinery.
