Offered is a stunning Victorian-era ball-style lamp shade featuring a deep "Diamond Quilt" pattern. The glass exhibits a beautiful sapphire blue hue with a sharp, milky opalescent contrast that highlights the geometric lattice. This shade was originally designed for use on a GWTW (Gone with the Wind) style parlor lamp, a banquet lamp, or a high-end kerosene table lamp. The glass has a wonderful "fire" when held to the light, characteristic of high-quality period opalescence. The fitter rim is unfinished/ground, which is standard for authentic 19th-century production.
Material: Hand-blown Opalescent Art Glass
Pattern: Diamond Quilt / Diamond Lace
Color: Ice Blue / Sapphire Blue with White Opalescent Lattice
Age: Circa 1890–1905 (Victorian Era)
Origin: USA (Likely Northwood or Consolidated)
Condition: Excellent antique condition. No cracks, chips, or heat-related bruising to the body of the shade. As shown in the photographs, there is typical flea-biting and minor roughness along the top and bottom fitter rims, which is commensurate with age and being held in a metal tripod or spider. No major flaking.
