An early 20th-century (c. 1910s–1920s) cast iron "Wise Owl" (or "Owl on Log") figural still bank, manufactured by the A.C. Williams Company in Ravenna, Ohio. Standing approximately 3.7 inches tall on a textured log base, this early production piece features a classic two-piece vertical seam construction held together by its single rear-mounting round-head slotted steel machine screw.
This piece retains a high percentage of its bronze/gold cold-painted finish. The prominent eyes feature distinct hand-painted multi-color details with crisp white, pink, blue, and black iris/pupil highlights. The top coin slot is cleanly integrated into the mold behind the owl's ruffed crown. The casting displays deep feather texturing, a stable log base, and flush seam fitment throughout.
