This exquisite antique Torah Pointer, or Yad, is a fine example of late 19th-century ceremonial Judaica. The pointer is masterfully crafted with a tapered body of turned and polished natural horn, displaying a beautiful range of honey, amber, and deep variegated brown tones.
The horn sections are divided by decorative gilt brass "bamboo" style twisted wire collars. The pointer terminates in a delicately cast brass hand with a classic extended index finger. The opposite end features a decorative urn-shaped finial with a beaded gallery, attached to a functional hanging chain. Its lightweight, ergonomic design and elegant mixed-material aesthetic make it a perfect addition to a collection of historical silver and metalware or for use in a synagogue.
